• Students being dropped off will be walked across the bus lane by their parents into the main entrance.  Bus students are escorted by a CHW staff member. Students should not cross the bus lane alone.
• The arrival bell will ring at 7:30 a.m and students may enter their classrooms.
• Students who eat breakfast at school should arrive before 7:30 a.m and pick up their breakfast and take it to their classrooms. 
• Students will line up according to their classroom number posted on the yellow cones.  
• Teachers will greet students in front of the yellow cones and escort them to class.
• Students arriving after 7:30 a.m are considered tardy and must go to the office for a tardy slip
• First dismissal bell will be at 2:30 p.m. – All Bus Students will be picked up by the route supervision and escorted to the cafeteria. All students must sit according to their route numbers.  All students must remain in their seats at all times until their bus route number is called.   
• Students being picked up: These students will be escorted by their classroom teachers and exit through their specific dismissal door and wait until their parents arrives.  

Mondays through Fridays, the academic day begins at 7:30 AM and ends at 2:40 PM

School Hours: 7:30 a.m.- 2:40 p.m. - Days: Monday-Friday

7:30-7:50 Entrance/Screen Check

7:50-8:35 (1st hour)

8:40-9:25 (2nd hour)

9:30-10:15 (3rd hour)

10:20-11:05 (4th hour)

11:10-11:55 (5th hour)

12:00-12:45 (6th hour)

12:50-1:35 (7th hour)

1:40-2:40 (8th hour)

Dismissal: 2:40 p.m.

Charles Wright Academy of Arts & Science requires a uniform.  

Slacks and Pants

* Color: All slacks and pants must be a solid color: Khaki, navy blue, or black. (Leggings and tights are not allowed.)

* Style: Slacks and pants can be pleated or flat front, full length and appropriately fastened at the waist.

* Material: Cotton, canvas, corduroy, linen, polyester, wool or fabric blends.

* Belts:  If the garment has belt loops a belt should be worn at all times

Tops

* Shirts and blouses must have buttoned down or straight collars. Turtlenecks and polo styles are permitted. At the school’s discretion tops must be worn tucked inside pants, slacks, or skirts.

* Color: All students shall wear approved colors required by the school

* Style: Long and short sleeves with a collar required. Turtlenecks and polo styles permitted.

* Logos: Manufacturer trademarks, if any, must be one inch or less. DPSCD school logos are permitted and are not limited in size.

Skirts and Jumpers/Skorts

* Color: Khaki, navy blue and black, in a solid, single color.

* Style: Skirts must be at least knee length.

Jackets, Cardigans, and Sweaters

* Color: Should match an accepted uniform color.

* Style: All must be worn over a collared shirt, turtleneck, or polo style top.

* Hooded Jacket: Hoods are not be worn (on the head) during the school day

Footwear

* Style: Athletic shoes, laced shoes and/or other shoe boots, loafers, dress shoes, or other closed toed/closed heel shoes.

* Students are prohibited from wearing -toed boots or shoes to school.

* Mules are inappropriate.
