Summer School Enrollment Process

DPSCD Families,

This summer, we are excited to offer your child a high-quality learning experience that accelerates learning, builds confidence, and expands exposure to new opportunities.

Registration for the District’s 2026 Summer Discovery programs is now open! This FREE program is available for ALL DPSCD Pre-K through 8th-grade students.

New this year: To register for Summer Discovery 2026, families will receive a unique enrollment link for each student via their student's DPSCD email address, and will also receive a direct email to the parent/guardian email on file with the District--no student email or password required, just click the link!

If you do not receive the link, please reach out to your home school to update your contact information or request a paper copy of the enrollment form.

Detroit Public Schools Community District is offering the following programs:

• Kindergarten Boot Camp (Pre-K): A full-day program designed to prepare children for kindergarten. Students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2026 (waivers available if turning 5 by December 1).
• K–8 Summer Discovery: A fun, camp-like experience with academic learning and enrichment activities.

PreK–8 Summer Discovery

Eligibility: Current PreK–8 students

• Dates: June 22 – July 24 (Monday–Friday; no school July 3) 8:15 AM-4:15 PM
• Format: In-person at assigned feeder school sites. PreK at select sites.
• Programming: Small class sizes providing academic support and enrichment programming (Arts, Athletics, Computers, Drama)
• Transportation: Yellow bus service available for eligible students
• Meals: Breakfast and lunch included
• Deadline to Enroll: June 1
